A few things to keep in mind this week:
The Etsy Berlin Street Team’s “Xmas Pop,” a pop-up Christmas Market selling handmade crafts from some of Berlin’s best designers, will launch on Wednesday, December 2nd. Join them for their opening reception at 4 pm and enjoy some Glühwein and snacks and a chance to meet some of the designers. Located in Galerie Torstrasse, Torstrasse 161, the store will only be open until December 14th, so don’t miss out!
On December 5th and 6th, the 2015 “Weihnachtsrodeo,” or Christmas Rodeo will be taking place. The elves behind the Weihnachtsrodeo are setting out to break the monotony of mainstream shopping with some truly unusual designs. On sale will be unique Christmas tree decorations, works of art, fashion and home decor. Electronic music and classic festive street food will also be on hand to help you get into the holiday spirit. It will take place in Postbahnhof am Ostbahnhof in Straße der Pariser Kommune 8 on Saturday, December 5th, and Sunday, December 6th, from 12 noon until 8 pm.
This Holiday Season, give the gift of books! During the month of December, NPR Berlin 104,1 FM is teaming up with Berliner Büchertisch for a Holiday Book Drive. To participate, just bring your old books to our office on Gneisenaustrasse 27 the first three Fridays of the month, between 10 am and 5 pm. The books will be distributed to children and teenagers, refugee centers, school libraries and low-income neighborhoods, as well as to various literacy projects around the city. Join NPR Berlin and Berliner Büchertisch this December to give the gift of reading to our community! Friday, December 4th, 11th and 18th from 10 am to 5 pm, Gneisenaustr. 27 in Berlin-Kreuzberg.
