February in Berlin is dedicated to Berlinale, Europe's largest audience film festival. This year marked its 66th edition, presenting over 400 films and more than 1,000 public screenings.
For our coverage of the event, we talked to this year's Golden Bear winner, Gianfranco Rosi, and Danish filmmaker, Thomas Vinterberg, whose film, "The Commune," received a Silver Bear for Best Actress. Also in the program is director, Rafi Pitts and actors, Darrell Britt-Gibson and Aml Ameen for "Soy Nero," New York documentary filmmaker, Gina Abatemarco, and Sherng-Lee Huang. We also visited the Berlinale Talents and listened in on a talk with German cinematographer, Michael Ballhaus, who received this year's Honorary Golden Bear.
This special will air on NPR FM Berlin 104,1 in March 2016.
