When she moved to Berlin, writer Pippa Anais Gaubert began selling antiques online, buying from Berliners and then reselling internationally.
Antique bridal gowns became one of her best-selling items. When the dresses arrived at her home, many were encased in large, heavy frames sealed since the nineteenth century. Some gowns were beautifully ornate with elaborate headdresses. Some smelled moldy and had yellowed during their 100 years in entombment.
